Mesilla Valley Bosque State Park birding on Saturday

Saturday September 10, was another good day we were accompanied by a local expert Coleman Goin known locally as CJ. There was a influx of Wood Warblers attracted by the mosquitos. It was wonderful to watch Wilson's Warbler at very close range, truly a delightful creature. In addition there was some movement of raptors, next weekend we are expecting a large push of Hawks...do not forget your insect repellent, alternatively we do sell wipes at the visitors center.

The weekend birding tour continues

See you on Saturday at 8:00 am on the first of October

September 3, Participants of the birding tour enjoyed some pleasant surprises this morning!
The bird of the day was a Yellow-crowned Night-Heron. The heron was briefly glimpsed along the Rio Grande. Tour members went off in search and spontaneously,
very capable team was formed, where everyone began communicating with hand gestures rather than sound. The rarity was soon found and then observed for quite some time.

Quite a memorable morning - see you next weekend
