Spring in New Mexico USA

All the trees are bursting into wonderful green leaf or colourful blossom. The birds and bees are working their Spring magic.

It is a delight to listen to the Eurasian Starling singing in my backyard here in the Southwest, as indeed they do at home across the Atlantic in England. Not a common bird here, but a familiar old friend to Europeans and a very welcome tenant in my old elm tree cavity.
Our German colleagues call this bird "Star" which would truly describe its performance today.

While all these Springtime natural events are taking place in the backyard, above my home in Mesilla, the Spring migrations are well underway. Raptors are moving north; many Turkey Vultures, flocks of Barn Swallows, and small passerines.
