Laughing Falcon of Costa Rica

Whilst hiking the ridge near Sardinal Costa Rica and clearing the path with my recently acquired machete, I was reflecting on the remarkable technique used by an elderly woman I had seen whirling her blade so that it looked like a lawn mower spinning! I was very much aware that my style left much to be desired, when I heard the ridiculing laughter of the falcon. After it generously allowed itself to be photographed and recorded, it flew and there it was gone.

Excuse the inferior quality of this video, but I dropped my machete and was hanging on the edge of a crumbling trail looking down into the treetops.
I will be revisiting the site to try to catch this specialist snake eating bird.

See you in the rainforest!
